Ellen Pompeo Expecting

The Hollywood baby epidemic shows no signs of slowing, as Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is just the latest celebrity to announce a pregnancy.

 

After Pompeo, 39, was recently spotted shopping for baby clothes and supplies, a rep for the actress confirmed that she and husband Chris Ivery are expecting their first child together.

 

“It’s great news,” Jennifer Allen, Pompeo’s rep, told People yesterday. “They’re ecstatic.”

 

With her pregnancy, Pompeo brings the number of pregnant Grey’s Anatomy stars up to two, joining her on-screen sister Chyler Leigh. Pompeo and Ivery wed in 2007 after dating for four years, and their baby news isn’t a huge surprise to anyone following the actress’ press coverage: in the October 2009 issue of Allure, Pompeo talked about the possibility starting a family with her husband.
